2./JR111

Infanterie-Regiment
Markgraf Ludwig Wilhelm (3 Badishes) Nr. 111
--Zweite  Kompanie--

Of all the warring powers, only Germany stood alone without outside help, her allies served to drain her rather than reinforce her. The Army which defended Germany was highly trained and disciplined. The victors write the history, and so it has been with the history of the German Army in World War One. Most of what is known of Imperial German Army has been written by British writers and also influenced by our perceptions of the German Army of World War Two. Our Goal is to portray the Kaiser's Army which fought with courage and honor for four long years. We represent troops raised in Baden one of the many states comprising the German Empire. A non-Prussian state was chosen in order to reflect the diverse nature of the German Empire and its army.

The 111th's primary focus is on encouraging research into the daily lives and material culture of the Imperial German Army of 1914-1918. We  participate in the Military Through the Ages event in Jamestowne, VA, where groups present various military impressions from the beginnings of organized warfare to the present day. In addition to this living history event, the 111th attends the combat events hosted by the Great War Association.

We all share an interest in this exciting period of history amd share a pride of our unit. We all wish to represent the original unit in as authentic a manner as possible and honor the memory of the original unit members who served in the Great War.
