1.
The dress will consist of a shirt - waist style top attached to a
gathered skirt of grey- blue, grey, or intermediate shade cotton,
wool, or natural fiber combination material only. The fabric may be
solid or pinstriped (solid is preferred). The dress will have white
cotton collar and cuffs and will button up the front. The dress will
be no shorter than 5" from the ground when worn.

An apron of white cotton, bib - style, with either ties or buttons
(at the back) will be worn. The preferred style has straps over the
shoulders, crossing in back and fastened either with buttons or sewn
in place. The apron may be with or without pockets, at the wearers
option. The apron will be nearly as long as the dress and wide enough
to reach the side seams of the dress.

A cap shall be of white cotton or linen. The cap may be of either
modern or scarf-style in a documented pattern.

Shoes shall be either high - lace ("granny") boots with
rounded toes and low heels, or a period Oxford-style shoe with low
heel. Shoes shall be black. Boots are preferred.

Stockings shall be black, and be of an opaque fabric. Stockings should
be made of either wool, acrylic, or cotton knit, either ribbed or
plain.
6.
Insignia:
Nurses may wear a pin at the base of the collar or at the top center
of the apron bib. Acceptable pins are: a plain enameled red cross
shape with a white outline border; or a circular pin with dark blue
or black border, a red cross in the center, and the words "Deutsches
Rotes Kreuz" or "Hilfschwester" on the border.
* Note: Pins must
not have any Nazi symbols on them.
7.
Nurses may wear the greatcoat as worn by military personnel or a grey
cape. Civilian overcoats are permitted if of a period style and in
a grey, field grey, or black color. Black, grey, or field-grey knit
hats, scarves, and gloves are also permitted.

Gas masks are not required but......
(*
Note: If steel helmets are required, it seems that gas masks should
likewise be mandatory. If you need a helmet to protect you because
you are in the range of ballistic effects, you are also within range
of chemical effects.)
9.
Bread bags and medical canteens are optionally authorized.
10.
Any appropriate medical equipment is desirable, providing it is visually
appropriate for the period. German markings are preferred, but unmarked
equipment is also acceptable.
